Browser Extension
The Elumity Browser Extension is a powerful tool that allows users to import research articles, papers, and other references directly into their Elumity library. This extension is compatible with popular research databases and websites, making it easier to manage your resources efficiently.
Accessing the Browser Extension
The Elumity Browser Extension seamlessly integrates with your browser and can be accessed directly while navigating supported sites such as PubMed, Google Scholar, arXiv, or Elumity’s website. Once the extension is installed, a small Elumity icon appears in your browser's toolbar.
Importing References
When you are on a supported research website, the extension detects the articles available for import. The Elumity Web Importer window provides you with a preview of the articles available for import, showing key information such as titles, authors, publication dates, and whether PDFs are available for download.
The Select All checkbox allows you to choose all displayed articles at once, or you can individually select the articles you're interested in. If the "Save PDF" option is available, check it to download and save the full-text PDF directly to your Elumity library, provided the PDF is accessible.
Organizing Your Imports
Once you've selected your desired references, you can organize them into your pre-existing folders in Elumity or create a new folder. The Folder dropdown menu enables you to select the appropriate folder where your references will be saved. By expanding the folder tree, you can precisely navigate to the subfolders, ensuring your articles are categorized appropriately.
Additionally, you can filter chapters or categories within your Elumity folders, making it easy to integrate the references into specific topics of your research projects.
Downloading and Saving to Elumity
After selecting the articles and the appropriate folder, click on Save to Elumity. The extension starts downloading your selected items, and you can monitor the progress directly in the extension window. Articles that include PDF downloads will display a “Downloading” status until the process is complete. Once imported, your references are fully integrated into your Elumity library and can be accessed across all your devices.
By using the Elumity Browser Extension, you streamline your research workflow, ensuring all your references and resources are consistently organized and easily accessible within your Elumity platform. This feature is especially useful for students, researchers, and professionals who frequently source articles from various databases.
